Statement
Though I am, by nature, a printmaker (i.e. I crave the multiple and pattern, process and the repeated task), my studio work owns a rhythm between printmaking, drawing, sculptural objects, and performance. I have an intense attraction to objects that have been historically thought of as tokens of wealth. Corsage pins, china teacups, silver flatware, hoop shirts, and hankies possess specific qualities in regards to etiquette, practice, and their use. Within my artistic research, I look at class structure, family upbringing, and the formation of our societal roles in conjunction with these stereotypical ‘upper class’ objects and their associated etiquette rituals.
